It mixes the gritty, apocalyptic stuff great with the light-hearted funny stuff. The writing is awesome, and I love the tone of the game. And then I know that the Lonesome Road is the last DLC and that there's hints of the events of it in the other DLC and in the main game, but the quest isn't called Lonesome Road, and if you didn't know about it you could easily end up just randomly choosing it as your first quest.Īnyway, besides that one complaint the game is great. I could be wrong, but I'm assuming that some of them build off of stories from the game and probably wouldn't make a ton of sense if you did them right off the bat. I'm really, really enjoying this game so far but I have the same complaint with this that I did with the Dragon Age Ultimate Edition, you start out with like five DLC quests right out of the gate with no context for when to do them or what they're about. Sorry if this has been asked, but what order should I do the DLC in, and when? Someday I'd like an open world RPG where things change massively based on what you do. After I became vilified by the Legion, I was hoping that they would send death squads after me, but that never happened.

It seems that there are very few persistent changes that can be made in the world. The NCR quest disappeared, but I get basically the same quest from Yes Man. Since I was on the strip, I decided to see what would happen if I killed Mr. For example, the Kings constantly send a dude to give me a stimpak or some caps whenever I'm in Freeside.īut here's an example of what I'm talking about: the NCR gave me a quest to go protect the President at Hoover Dam. I guess the Idolized/Liked/Accepted/Vilified statuses for the different groups make some difference. Now the casino is open again (which allowed me to use the chip glitch to get a few hundred thousand caps). The most persistent change I can see is when I got Primm a new sheriff. One NCR trooper did say "I wish I could have been there to watch Caesar die." That's it.

When I got to a high enough level, I fast-traveled to The Fort and killed every living creature inside, including Caesar himself. Nothing changes except that occasionally an NCR trooper says something like "We've taken back Nelson!" What if some NPCs were to go set up a camp in those towns? What if one of those NPCs turned out to be a merchant who sells something very useful? I wiped out the Legion forces at Nipton and Nelson.
